Today we came to the share house 'Bacchus Shimokitazawa' in Shimokitazawa!
Shimokita is lined with vintage clothing shops, variety stores, and stylish cafés. And this property even has a BAR, so we were really excited!! A share house with a BAR? We couldn’t quite imagine what kind of place it would be, but when we got there, it was such a bar-like space that you would never guess it was part of a share house (lol).
Please take a look right away~!

Hitomi “This is BACCHUS SHIMOKITA, located in Shimokitazawa, a youthful town where theater people and artists gather♪ At first glance, you almost wonder, is it an apparel shop? A furniture store? A hair salon? That’s how stylish the exterior is♪ Even though it is just steps away from the street lined with shops that people typically associate with Shimokitazawa, the surrounding area is a quiet residential neighborhood. This is an amazing location! There are plants near the entrance too, and the design harmonizes the building with nature!”
Kumiko “As expected of Hitomi-chan’s report! Let’s go take a look right away!”

Hitomi “This wooden wall in front of the entrance—if you look closely, there are mailboxes in it! So cute~♪”
Kumiko “So cute!! The wood gives it such a stylish feel.”

Hitomi “Kumi-san, I’m home~♪ The entrance is made entirely of glass, so natural light pours in. There’s also a Beatles picture on display, plus a roomy shoe cabinet and an umbrella stand, so you can really see that care has gone into every detail. There is so much to praise here!”
Kumiko “Hitomi-chan, hurry, hurry! The entrance is so spacious that it makes you feel relaxed too~. It really is excellent! A truly praise-worthy entrance (lol).”

Hitomi “It’s so nice to have a big mirror in the entrance, isn’t it? Every morning, I’d have to practice my smile here and check my appearance☆”
Kumiko “How do we look today~♪ It’s great to have a mirror in the entrance for that final check! Of course, it’s nice before a date too♪”

Hitomi “This is the roomy shoe cabinet. And not only this one—there were two or three more shelves as well~.”
Kumiko “Exactly! It has this much storage capacity, and there’s more on the opposite side too!! You can fit plenty of shoes in here!”

Hitomi “The name ‘BACCHUS’ refers to the god of alcohol in Spain. Just as the name suggests, there is a café bar lounge where you can enjoy drinks and coffee!”
Kumiko “And that lounge is beyond this [BAR]! I’m curious!! I want to see it already (lol)!”

Hitomi “What do you think! This wide counter! Being able to enjoy drinks and coffee in such a special space♪ It feels like such a mature atmosphere, doesn’t it~? By the way, this lounge can also be rented out privately for 1,000 yen per hour! Not only residents, but apparently you can invite as many friends as you like too. (So nice!) Not only for events and parties—even having your own bar doesn’t have to remain just a dream. You could serve cocktails or latte art and enjoy feeling like a little owner yourself♪”
Kumiko “That counter is so good! I wonder how many people it can hold at maximum. If people were standing, it looked like quite a lot could fit, right? And 1,000 yen is unbelievably cheap!! You could have a birthday party with friends, a little girls’ gathering, anything at all!”

Hitomi “A comfortable sofa where you can relax while looking outside. And the classical chandelier adds even more atmosphere, doesn’t it?”
Kumiko “So elegant~♪ It kind of feels like we’ve time-slipped a little; that retro atmosphere is irresistible.”

Hitomi “There are table seats too~! Each chair has a different style, and they’re lovely.”
Kumiko “It really feels like a shop! It’s a home, yet it feels like a shop. And that shop is a BAR. It’s just too wonderful!”

Hitomi “The framed pictures on the wall are cute and stylish too! There’s even a handrail, which is nice for people standing while they drink.”
Kumiko “Exactly~! The way those are hanging looks so stylish~! I see! So this is a handrail for people drinking while standing. You could really throw a big party here.”

Hitomi “You can even enjoy high-quality music through a vacuum tube audio system!”
Kumiko “I’ve never seen one before! It looks so cool. Music is essential for a party, right?”

Hitomi “Look, look—inside the counter! It looks like you could store lots of alcohol in there~! There’s even a hanging glass rack like the kind you often see at stylish bars along riversides. It doesn’t feel like a home at all!”
Kumiko “That glass rack is something to admire, right? It’s indispensable for your own bar (lol). It really doesn’t feel like a house at all~!”

Hitomi “I want Kumi-san to make me a drink here~♪ There are so many stylish flower vases and dishes too!”
Kumiko “Even the ice maker and refrigerator are commercial grade! Now then, what shall I make? Just ask for anything~!”

Hitomi “This stove was apparently chosen from commercial-grade equipment. It feels like we’ve come into a restaurant kitchen. So cool!!”
Kumiko “Right, the word ‘kitchen’ really fits here! The heat output looks amazing! With this, you could make anything. I want to try that thing where you make red wine go whoosh and flame up.”

Hitomi “Separate from the bar space, there is this spacious and stylish lounge area. Sofas, counter seats, table seats, and more—the mismatched chairs act like a spice, with various textures blended together in an exquisite balance!”
Kumiko “This is the kitchen and lounge that residents normally use, right? It feels like a stylish café~!”

Hitomi “This is a spacious lounge you can enjoy in all sorts of ways—chatting, eating, playing games, working, and more. The lighting is cute too, isn’t it?”
Kumiko “When you step out of your room, your housemates are there—you can talk together, or work by yourself. It’s a kind of space you could never imagine in solo living.”

Hitomi “A beautiful kitchen space based on white and wood tones. On the counter, there were sweets that residents had brought back from their travels, left out with a ‘Please help yourself♪’ note. It feels so homey and nice~☆”
Kumiko “It really is, it really is~! After the holiday return rush, it feels like it would be filled with souvenirs from all over Japan~! Sounds fun^^ I really do admire a counter kitchen~”

Hitomi “This kitchen is spacious enough that even two people can be in it comfortably. You can divide tasks and cook while discussing things together, so maybe someone could even teach me how to make Valentine’s chocolates~ (lol)”
Kumiko “Hitomi-chan, you’re getting ahead of yourself! (lol) But wait, I feel like we might discover some great dishes here~. Cooking together with friends like this was another one of my dreams.”

Hitomi “There’s plenty of storage space too! Shall we assign a designated place for our own tableware??”
Kumiko “That’s right! The residents could decide on fixed spots among themselves, or maybe make the dishes shared as well!”

Hitomi “The cooking utensils are provided too. Since it’s a newly built property, everything is brand new!”
Kumiko “Brand new really is nice~! And when the utensils are already there from the start, it’s so easy because you don’t have the trouble of having to go buy everything after moving in♪”

Hitomi “It’s great to have a TV in the living room! Watching sports together with everyone sounds fun.”
Kumiko “You can all play games together too! I really like this pink sofa~! I want one at home too☆”

Hitomi “This window-side counter has stand lights at each seat. It feels just like working in a café~. What a luxury to be able to enjoy that café-working mood at home without even having to go outside!”
Kumiko “It’s probably quieter than a café outside, and I bet you could really concentrate on your work. The yellow chair is cute too!”

Hitomi “You can enjoy reading or studying like this too♪”
Kumiko “Being able to say, ‘What do you think about this?’ and get a little advice right away if your housemates are nearby—that’s really nice, isn’t it?”

Hitomi “There’s a little lounge on the third floor too! The view and sunlight are both amazing! Conversation just naturally becomes lively♪ It’s so nice to have big windows and a balcony~.”
Kumiko “The third floor has a different kind of fresh-feeling lounge, doesn’t it? It’s convenient to have a lounge on your own floor too◎ The view feels so nice~!”

Hitomi “The wallpaper and curtains feel so fresh! And the red lamp works perfectly as an accent!”
Kumiko “It really feels good just being here! It looks like you could enjoy breakfast pleasantly while looking at the view outside.”

Hitomi “There’s even a kitchen here!! And there’s a refrigerator too.”
Kumiko “Since it’s something you use every day, it really is a hassle when it’s on a different floor. It’s so convenient to have both a kitchen and a refrigerator on the same floor.”

Hitomi “A room shaped like this~! The ceiling is high and the shape is interesting, so it makes you look forward to arranging the layout.”
Kumiko “Yeah, the slanted wall. It feels like an attic room! So cute~!”

Hitomi “The doors to each room are cute and stylish too. And the windows are large, which is great.”
Kumiko “The wooden feel of the doors is so cute. Come on in, come on in~!”

Hitomi “There’s a closet too! It’s spacious enough to satisfy people who have lots of clothes, isn’t it?”
Kumiko “Since it has doors, it helps the room look neat and tidy!”

Hitomi “The room numbers attached to the doors♪ It feels like a hotel, doesn’t it?”
Kumiko “So cute~! It feels like a travel destination.”

Hitomi “This one has an open-closet layout. I hope residents can enjoy creating their rooms with customization that reflects their own style.”
Kumiko “Since the open closet is long, you could use half of it for practical storage and make the other half stylish. That sounds exciting.”

Hitomi “Look, look! The rooms in the basement have ceilings this high!!”
Kumiko “There are rooms in the basement~! But there are windows too, so light comes in! The ceiling feels so spacious~!”

Hitomi “The bathroom is all white and very clean. Since there are rooms with bathtubs as well as lots of shower rooms, you don’t have to worry about it getting crowded, which is reassuring♪”
Kumiko “Sometimes you can soak and relax slowly and boost your femininity. Lately there are so many new shampoos that I can’t decide which one to use♪”

Hitomi “There are this many washing machines and dryers!!”
Kumiko “With this many, it’s reassuring because it looks like there won’t be any waiting to do laundry!!”

Hitomi “The washbasins provided in the shower rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean, and easy to use too! The round mirrors are cute as well~♪”
Kumiko “The round mirrors are cute~! Hitomi-chan, I’ll dry your hair for you~!”

Hitomi “A share house in the prime location of Shimokitazawa, newly built, and with a private bar space—how attractive! There were plants displayed here and there, classical and stylish furniture and decorations, a design that skillfully brings in natural light, and a spacious lounge for interaction—all of it was wonderful☆ Please come and take a look for yourself♪”
Kumiko “The music, the drinks, the stylish furniture—it really was wonderful! You definitely have to come here and make a toast at the BAR♪”
Everyone, what did you think??
A home in Shimokitazawa with a BAR. Being able to enjoy music and delicious drinks at home sounds like it would make every day so much fun that you might never want to leave the house (lol). You can invite friends over too, and it made me want to plan all kinds of fun events.
Please do come and see it for yourself.
