Hello. We are Sari and Hitomi. We went to see the shared house, “Couverture Denenchofu-minami”, in Denenchofu which is a nice quiet location.
It is for the first time for us to see a shared house. We are really excited to see it because a shared house is big trend in Japan. And, we watched “Terrace House” which is real TV program of a shared house story. So, we are going to introduce “Couverture Denenchofu-minami” today.

Comfortable living room

Hitomi「Wow! This is so nice!」

This living room has good combination of colors. House plants, wood floor, and bright lights make this room looks great.

Sari「It is the best point of a shared house that you can have fun conversation with house mates in a big living room like here.」

Hitomi「If I post a picture of a party with house mates here, I will get more likes in Instagram.」

Sari「That’s true.」


listening to this conversation and laughing, Ms. Takano told us that there are a electric griddle and machine to make a Takoyaki which is a Japanese food, so you can have a house party here.

Sari「It is so nice that we can have such a good time on weekend.」

Hitomi「There are 16 residents here. It’s not too many and not too few, so they can communicate with each other.」

Sari「 Are you worried about who is going to live together? If a creepy person lives, what do you think of this?」

Hitomi「Absolutely, I don’t want to live.」


Although we had been excited, I realized what the most important point is.

Takano「We have a interview with people who live here, so don’t worry about that. And, We have 23 shared houses, so we recommend another shared house if there is a person who go with another shard house.」

Sari「That’s nice. And, I am glad to here that.」

Hitomi「I was surprised at that you have 23 shared houses. A shared house is really popular now.」

Hitomi「There are 2 microwave ovens, 2 rice-cookers, and 2 toasters.」

Sari「They are enough for all residents.」

Hitomi「Look at this! Dish and kitchen utensils are already equipped.」

Sari「Nice! You can start to live here even if you don’t have enough stuffs to live.」

Hitomi「It costs too much if we purchase them.」

Sari「What is this shelf for?」

Takano「This is to keep your stuffs such as salt, paper, and so on. A resident living in another shared house suggests that it is convenient for me to have a shelf near kitchen. So, we set it.」

Hitomi「I think so, too. Having other shared houses, you can get many requests, so you can make the shared house better.」

Takano「Exactly. That’s why this house is very comfortable.」


If a kitchen is convenient, it makes a motivation for cooking up. Also, there is a outlet in the kitchen, so you can charge your smart phone and watch a recipe and you don’t need an extra-code for an electric hand mixer.

You can make your own style room

Next is a room you can keep your privacy.
Although every room is simple, they have different style such as arrangement of furniture and wall papers.

Sari「What is points of this room you recommend?」

Takano「First of all, this desk. When you don’t use it, you can put it under the bed. You can design a layout you like.」

Hitomi「That’s nice. Although I don’t use it to study, I am going to use it to make up.」

Sari「Good.」

Hitomi「The refrigerator is also big and has freezer.」

Sari「The most worried point I have is about food. I though someone eats my food. But, If there is refrigerator in a room, that’s not going to happen.」

Hitomi「You always eat too much, so I think some one should eat your food sometimes.」

Sari「I see… By the way, what is this hole of this ceiling?」

Takano「When you can put the special stick there, you can hang up your laundry inside. This shared house is available for men and women, so if you don’t want to hung up your cloth in a common place, you can hung up your cloth here.」

Hitomi「This is very nice for a woman.」

Takano「Yes. And, this outlet is also convenient.」

Sari「It is nice that there is a outlet near to bed. I use a extension cord, so when I clean up my room, it is hard to clean up.」

Hitomi「Take a look! You can insert your USB above the outlet. You can charge your smart phone without charger.」

There are also lots of outlets under the desk, you can start to live with your many electronic machines.

All rooms have a lockable door. So, you feel safe.

Only place for women

We have a bathroom, washing machine, dryer, and beauty room for women.

Here is a room for only women. Men are not allowed to enter this room, so you don’t have to make up. You can come here easily.

Hitomi「Wow! This is Panasonic’s steam machine.」

Takano「We got the latest one. You can use it anytime and it is for free.」

Sari「It is good that your company provides us with this kind of service.」

Hitomi「We always think how residents can lead a better life!」

It is so important that how much a company to manage a shared house cares about us. Of course, the latest hair dryer is also made by Panasonic. And, there is a chair in front of the sink. This is also good.

Hitomi「A bathtub is also large, so you can take a bath with your friends!」

In addition, there is a shower room on 1st floor.

It’s good for women that there is a bathroom, washing machine, and dryer for only women. Even this shared house is available for men and women, it is easy to live for women by separating these things.

Hitomi「You can adjust a size of height. I like it because I put heels in this box.」

Sari「You can also put your boots.」

There is a machine to deodorize on the ceiling. Don’t worry about bad smell.

Takano「This is a mail box made with Amazon. So, your stuffed is put in during your absence.」

Hitomi「Sounds great. I always purchase something in Amazon, so it is good for me.」


Next is outside of the house.

Sari「There is a bicycle with a logo of Couverure.」

Takano「You can use it anytime for free.」

Hitomi「Nice. It’s close to Tamagawa River. I want to go there by bicycle, but I cannot ride a bicycle.」

Takano「Haha」


It’s also close to Sakurazaka which is famous for Masaharu Fukuyama’s song. You can have an Ohanami party which is a Japanese traditional party in spring. In addition to the rental bicycle, there are 4 parking area for a bicycle.

Easier than living by yourself

I had a thought that although a shared house’s life is fun, it is not easier to live. But, My idea was completely turned out.

New electronic machines, a duty which is who is going to throw away garbage is already decided, cleaning up the house by professionals once a week, and comfortable house. “Couverture Denenchofu-minami” gives you them. Although I was thinking that I want to live in a shared house, I had no idea about a shared house’s life. But, in this time, I realized that I want to live.
