Hello! I’m Yumi. I have gone to view a social condominiums with wonderful stuffs such as a road-bike, a karaoke, a music room with a drum and a keyboard, an oxygen chamber which is a machine you can relax. This is “Share Residence Aobadai”

I have never heard such a word “social condominiums” before, even I lived shared house more than a year and half. So, I asked a company to manage it. The difference between a social condominiums and a shared house is that each room is one-room style and a bathroom, a restroom, a sink, and a kitchen are equipped in each room. In a normal shared house, these are not equipped in each room. So, you can keep your privacy more. And, I love a karaoke, so I really like this social condominiums.

It’s located in Aobadai. It takes 10 minutes on foot to Aobadai station. And, you can go to Shibuya station with NO transfer! Just 29minutes! It is very convenient for people who work in Shibuya. I am going to introduce “Share Residence Aobadai”

Yumi「Nice to meet you. When I entered the entrance, there were many bicycles! What is it?」

Aso「Hello, Yumi. Nice to meet you too. Here is a sport lounge. We thought that we would like to provide a place to exercise easily to people who want to do. So, we got Zwift which is an indoor cycling. We have 4 bicycles, you can compete with your friends, having a fun. Have you ridden on a road bike?」

Yumi「No I haven’t. Can I try? I lived in a shared house before, but there wasn’t such a nice machine there.」

Aso「Of course. Our company name is ASOBI ESTATE(PLAY ESTATE) which means play, so we focus on fun experience in a shared house, when we build a shared house. We also have a similar shared house in Tama plaza. You can play a survival game.」

Yumi「Survival game? Your company is very interesting.」

Yumi「Wow! When I pedal a bicycle, I can move a road bike on the screen.」

Aso「Yes, the road bike is linked to the screen. So, when you pedal a bicycle on a mountain road, it is really hard to pedal it.」

Yumi「That’s so interesting! If we play this with friends, it must be more fun.」

Aso「4 people who live here already played this game. Although it is difficult to continue exercising and workout alone, it’s not hard to continue exercising and workout by doing this together.」

Yumi「This road bike is easier to pedal!」

Aso「Yes, this is for woman. Almost all of our staffs play triathlon, so we invited residents to join a triathlon race in Kisarazu 27th Aug 2017 together. If you want to do, let’s do that!」

Yumi「It is good to have a same hobby! I wish I could join the race.」

Aso「After exercising, you can relax by this massage machine.」

Yumi「Wow! I like it! The shared house I used to lived didn’t have it. I want to use it every single day.」

Yumi「The hanged road bikes on wall are so cool!」

Aso「Thank you. This is a road bike brand of England “Hetins”. This is very valuable as a vintage road bike because there is only a craftsman in the world now.」

Yumi「There is also a fireplace. It looks a secret place for an adult.」

Aso「This is an eco-fireplace because this is a type of bioethanol. So, it doesn’t emit soot, smoke, harmful substance. It doesn’t need a chimney. This fireplace is really good for environment.」

Yumi「Although there are also road bikes, it looks different.」

Aso「This is Spinner, road bike, and is introduced to a normal gym. There is DJ equipment over there, so you can exercise with music.」

Yumi「Music ✕ road bike. It is interesting. It doesn’t seem like a shared house (social condominiums).」

Yumi「I like this interior design.」

Aso「Thank you. In North America and North European, a road bike is very popular and we are conscious of that when we build.」

Yumi「That’s why this room is exotic.」

Points we recommend is not only exercising in the house but also a large lounge like a café

Aso「You have lived in a shared house before, right?」

Yumi「Yes, I have. Although I had lived in Nagoya with my family before I came to Tokyo, I just thought that I wanted to live in Tokyo. So, I came here. Then I knew a shared house and I liked 3 points that furniture is already equipped, initial cost is low, and there is a large lounge like a café. So, I decided to live in a shared house. But it is not in Tokyo, it is in Saitama. This shared house was more comfortable than I expected, so although I was supposed to live just half a year, I was living more than a year and a half.」

Aso「I often have heard such a story. You were supposed to live a short term. Why did you extend a term?」

Yumi「I like this common point which has a very comfortable lounge like a café. The residents always come to the lounge because of the comfortable place. I don’t know the reason why the residents who come the lounge are positive. And, they admit and support me when I challenge something. So, I like them and I think we are a family. So, I stayed there long.」

Aso「You lived in the attractive shared house. We often heard such stories in our shared houses.」

Yumi「This retro TV is very cute.」

Aso「You can change channels not only with a remote control but also turning a dial.」

Yumi「Have you hold an event the residents communicate with each other?」

Aso「Yes, we have. We have hold a birthday party with all shared house mates. Communication between a shared house and another shared house is prosperous. For instance, we held a football event in summer and snowboard trip in winter. In this fall, we are going to hold a sea side festival in the shared house at Misima.」

Yumi「Sounds nice! I hope I will be there.」

Aso「There is a kitchen in each room, but we have a kitchen for commercial use in a common place. Do you usually cook?」

Yumi「Yes, I do. I prefer making a cake and cookie to cooking, having made them before in the shared house I used to live. So, I think this oven is very useful for me.」

Aso「 If we have a delicious cake and coffee in the shared house, it is almost café.」

A music room, a Japanese bar, and an oxygen chamber! Entertainment and relaxation life

Aso「The music room is next to the café lounge. Because of a highly soundproof wall, even if you play the drum, people in the lounge cannot hear the sound.」

Yumi「I want to play the drum! Can I try?」

Aso「Of course. This is an electronic drum, so if you have a headphone, you don’t need to worry about leaking a music.」

Yumi「Is this room open 24 hours a day?」

Aso「Unfortunately, this room is open 10 to 22 o’clock.」

Aso「This Japanese bar is membership system.」

Yumi「This is the first time for me to come a Japanese bar. Why is it in the social condominiums?」

Aso「I think we should keep a Japanese tradition, even residents are young.」

Yumi「 I see. If we hold a girl’s party, the lounge is better. On the other hand, If I wan to talk with someone, a Japanese bar is better.」

Yumi「Can I drink these alcoholic beverage?」

Aso「You can drink these whiskeys as much as you want. Also, we refill beer once a month, so you can drink!」

Yumi「That’s very nice! I can drink beer in the house!」

Aso「And, It’s for free, so first come, first served.」

Aso「We also have a karaoke machine here.」

Yumi「 I love it! When I lived in the shared house, I went to karaoke with my house mates.」

Aso「The newest song is always added, so you can song it. 100 JPY for a song.」

Yumi「That’s great. I am going to be a homebody.」

Yumi「You have an oxygen chamber! Can I go in?」

Aso「Of course. This is also for free. So, when you are tired, please use it.」

Yumi「I know this is good for recovering from fatigue and for skin. I really like it.」

Aso「We introduce it in another shared house. And, there is an outlet in it, so you can charge and use your smart phone.」

Yumi「Watching a movie on my smart phone, I can relax.」

Aso「We also have a coffee machine of Doutor which is one of the biggest coffee shop in Japan.」

The best point of the social condominiums! A bathroom, a restroom, a sink, and a kitchen are equipped in each room.

Aso「This is a five stories building, so let’s go to see a room by elevator.」

Yumi「There is a chair in front of the elevator, so I can sit and wait until the elevator come.」

Aso「This is a room.」

Yumi「This room gets a lot of sunlight! When I lived in shared house not to get lots of sunlight, I didn’t feel good. At that time, I realized sunlight is very important for my health.」

Aso「All rooms have a balcony.」

Yumi「It is good to hung the laundry out. To hung laundry in a room takes much time and smells bad.」

Yumi「The shared house I used to live didn’t have this kind of big closet. Women have lots of stuffs, so it is very helpful.」

Aso「How big was your room?」

Yumi「It was about 13㎡.」

Aso「This room is more than 20㎡, so you can relax at this room.」

Aso「This room has a kitchen because this is one room style.」

Yumi「You can make a well-prepared dish in the commercial kitchen, on the other hand, you can make a simple dish here. You can use these kitchens for each purpose.」

Yumi「When I go home and am so tired, I always want to take a shower soon. So, if there is a bathroom in each room, I don’t need to wait for other people and to care about them. This is very good.」

Aso「I think so, too. This is because of a social condominiums. A normal shared house doesn’t have it.」

Aso「This intercom is linked to your room directly.」

Aso「We have two kinds of room. One is a room with furniture. The other one is a room with no furniture.」

Yumi「I prefer a room with furniture.」

Aso「I think that people who live in a shared house should live in a room with furniture and people who live in an apartment of one room style should live in a room with no furniture.」

Yumi「It’s also a good point to have my own shoe box. Actually, I have more than 30 shoes.」

Aso「Wow! You have more than 30 shoes! You cannot put them in a shoe box of a normal shared house.」

Yumi「That’s true. So, I put them in my room. But, I don’t have to worry about it, if I live here.」

Aso「We concern security. The entrance door is automatically lockable door and a security camera is equipped. So, young women can live safety.」

Yumi「I think that it’s very important for them.」

The best shared house to start a new life

Yumi「I had prejudice for a shared house because I didn’t like a party with boys and girls and I had never lived a shared house. But, when I lived in a shared house, my prejudice disappeared because my share mates are going to be my family soon. So, I think there is an awesome place in a shared house. I think that this social condominiums “Share Residence Aobadai” is a good place to have fun with share mates and to keep your privacy. I strongly recommend this social condominiums to people who come to Tokyo from country side like me.」
